A Visit from an Oregon State Trooper

Last week, we read a story called, "Aero and Officer Mike."  The genre was nonfiction and was used to teach us about fact and opinion.  Our class had a special visitor to help us make connections to our story.  At one point, the Oregon State Trooper even shared that he had a K-9 dog too, just like Aero in our story.  But his K-9 was named Judge.  It was great that he shared with all of us that he is just another person: a husband, dad and friend.  It is good for all of us to understand that a policeman has a very big job to do to keep us all safe,  but they are also our friends.
